Glow: Light Up Bright

Free Beginners & Advanced EL Wire Workshop

If it flashes, glows, shines, or otherwise emits light, WEArts wants you to explore the use of el wire as an innovative & creative medium.  WEArts will be holding it’s 2nd annual free El Wire workshop on November 15th from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at the West End Community Centre, English Bay Room.

Local artist Liana Nishi will introduce participants to the world of electro-luminescence (El Wire), a thin, flexible tube, battery-powered that is sown to garments or attached to any accessories or equipment.  Imagine the possibilities & make your own unique glow-in-the-dark clothing or playful accessories that will illuminate the wintry days of December.

As the days grow shorter and darker, the West End will be celebrating a luminous December.  Local artists & the community are encouraged to shine bright during the 2nd Annual Lumiere Festival, December 11 & 12, presented by the West End BIA and the Lumiere Festival Society.  We want all the participants in the el wire workshop to shine at this year’s festival!

Limited capacity of 20, therefore, register NOW for this workshop at WEArts.ca!

WEArts wishes to thank the Gordon Neighbourhood House & Vancouver Foundation for their grant to make this event possible.
