African Descent Festival 2026
The African Descent Festival returns to English Bay Beach on August 22 and 23, 2026, for a weekend celebrating the rich cultures, traditions, and contributions of people of African descent.
Now in its 12th year, the festival brings together communities from across the Lower Mainland through live music, cultural performances, dance, art, food vendors, and family-friendly activities. Drawing thousands of attendees each year, the African Descent Festival is a vibrant celebration of diversity, unity, and the many cultures that make up Vancouver’s community.
