Canada Day is best celebrated here in the West End! Even with COVID-19 restrictions, and social distancing, we’ve still got so many amazing things happening in our neighbourhood.

We’ve put together our Top 10 recommendations for you to have an wonderful day in the West End.

1. Start the Day with Great Coffee
Kick-off Canada Day with a delicious cup of coffee from one of the West End’s favourite cafes. Visit Melriches on Davie, Cafe Portrait on Denman, and Breka on Robson to name a few!

2. Cycle Around the City
Rent a bike from one of our many rental locations, and explore the beautiful streets, beaches and parks in the West End. Locations include: Freedom Bike Rentals, English Bay Bike Rentals, Yes Cycle and many more.

3. Pick up Ice Cream from D’oro Gelato & Caffè
Nothing says summer like ice cream! With a wide selection of freshly made treats, D’oro Gelato & Caffè is the perfect post-beach location.

4. Hit the Beach
Enjoy some sand, sport and sunshine at any of the West End’s beaches this Canada Day! If you forget any of your beach essentials, you can always stop by The Quick Nickel for all your needs.

5. Enjoy Oceanside Views
From the beach-side patio of Hook Seabar, to the elevated decks of The Loft Lounge and Bayside Lounge, we are not short of awesome patios here. Stay safe and distant while enjoying cocktails and tasty bites.

6. Explore Stanley Park
Discover new trails, secret gardens and lost lagoons within our vast Stanley Park. You can even stop in for a quick pint at Stanley Park Brewing Co.

7. Visit the new Score on Davie Patio
Check out the new double patio set-up from Score on Davie, while downing one (or two) of their famous Caesars!

8. Picnic in the Grass
Grab your blanket, order some delicious take-out and bring it all down to the grassy hills along the sea-wall for some people-watching.

With new patios popping up at Mary’s and The Italians, Jim Deva Plaza is coming back to life in Phase 3 with a new energy. Stop in and take a break in the plaza after climbing up those West End hills.
