Hoye continued, “I started working at 1181 Lounge and, eventually, became co-owner. We’re well-known for our weekly and seasonal events — and, of course, for our drag shows. We have the longest-running weekly drag show on Davie Street, Sanctuary Sundays, with rotating hosts and new performers — we recently celebrated our 7-year anniversary. On Wednesdays, we have free drag shows, including monthly Latin American nights with salsa lessons. Some of our DJs have gone on to international careers — we know how to set the mood and get the music right.”
