Spotlight Series: AetherHaus
There’s Peace in the Haus
In the heart of the West End, a half block from English Bay and the Laughing Sculptures, there’s a spot where the pressures of the day fade, where hospitality focuses on how you feel. AetherHaus is a thermal spa for reorienting your environment, recalibrating, restoring, relaxing, and reviving — with a Himalayan salt sauna, cold plunge ice bath, and atmospheric tea lounge.
Bring the Elements to Your Body
When we talked with Program Director, Dave Gu, he was quick to point out what AetherHaus doesn’t focus on. “We don’t have clocks, there are no timers, nothing that demands or grates. When our members walk in, they’re greeted like they’ve come home. There’s no guru, no teacher, no performance expectations to meet. Phones are put away and no one is going to measure inputs or outputs. The focus is on your body and nature’s ways of bringing you into equilibrium,” Gu said.
“The radiant heat of our sauna, the tactile feel of the rock walls, our subdued earth-tones and calming low-lights — we take our members on a journey. It’s a time when the pressures of life pause. We have two types of sessions: self-directed free flow and semi-guided. Each session is a 90-minute window of deep reset. Some members take things inward through our silent mode, others enjoy some ambient tunes. We also feature casual and engaged social sessions as our community atmosphere builds naturally.”
Work with Fire & Ice to Reset
When you walk into AetherHaus, there’s a friendly lobby area before you enter the inner-sanctum of peace, calm, and sensory stress relief. Beside the custom-design sauna and cold plunge features, there’s towel service, a shower area with curated body care products, and herbal teas in the lounge. Whether it’s after a busy day or before your pressures start in the morning, AetherHaus is the place to orient your body and mind with a unique experience of satisfaction, consistency, and meaning.
For corporate clients, private booking of the facility can be arranged for team cohesion. Venik leaves, native to Eastern Europe, are used for specialty massage services, alongside playlists for an immersive sound bath, group breathwork, and the tea lounge’s connecting space — all the elements your organization needs for team strength and creativity.
Relax with Others in the Calm
AetherHaus is open from early morning until late evening, with pre-booking administered through a convenient app. Membership benefits are available in unlimited monthly or multiple visit packages. The popular Haus Classic Aufguss class takes members on a powerful ritualized sensory experience through lighting, journey music, steam and heat.
