Craft Cocktails with a Comforting West Coast Menu
The Bayside’s General Manager, Hugo, rolls out a craft cocktail list of fifty delectable choices. Seasonal specials are on rotation and there’s always something new to try. Classic drinks fill out the selection and a curated menu of West Coast appies and entrees makes every visit over-the-top delicious.
We asked Hugo to tell us about the Bayside Lounge’s historic role in the English Bay scene, looking across to the A-maze-ing Laughter Sculptures. “We were recently rated number two by Conde Nast — our cocktails are legendary. To celebrate our decades on the English Bay strip, we pulled out all the stops this year. We gave the interior a fresh look — taking it right back to the 1970s, when the Bayside story began.
“When we opened, the tables had dial-phones so you could strike up a conversation easily. We’ve tipped our hat to that spirit of connection — it’s all about having fun with new friends and old. We’re at the heart of Vancouver’s most beautiful neighbourhood, so we feature original work from local artists and touches that tell the story of our role as the West End’s living room,” Hugo said. “Our regulars are telling us the new renovation means we won’t be a ‘hidden gem’ anymore!”
Come Alone, or Bring the Gang
The Bayside Lounge boasts a stunning selection of items from the kitchen — lamb chops with grilled apples and mint demi-glaze, hot honey crispy chicken, classic beef dip, salmon burgers, beer-battered fish and chips — the selection is impressive. Brunch on the weekends features items like cinnamon rolled pancakes, churro french toast, or healthy hash — and you can ask your server for a delicious, less-healthy twist with chorizo.
A daily highlight is the Bayside’s happy hour specials, with drinks and snacks all afternoon on weekdays and from 3 – 6pm on weekends. There’s an event and a DJ spinning tracks from 10pm until late, so the party’s always on.
