Weekly specials feature dishes like Beryani lamb cooked with cinnamon and spices and served on special Persian bread.
Authentic Cooking Just Like Home
Owner Mehdi Sadeghi opened Foodies Delight in a spot on Denman already known for its vegetarian and vegan menu. We asked him about the switch to a broader Mediterranean selection and savory meat dishes. “We saw a need in the West End restaurant scene for quality, homecooked food and immediately knew we’d build on the previous owner’s success. In fact, we brought Ofra onboard as our head chef because her following in the neighbourhood is legendary. Together, we built our menu to include vegetarian classics, like Men-Eh-Men’s Turkish egg and tomato dish, chicken Shawarma, slow- cooked sausage, and Kofta. Our regular customers love our new menu.”
Sadeghi’s background in architecture came into play during a complete renovation of the cozy restaurant’s interior. “When we first opened, we focused on getting the word out through Middle Eastern buzz on social media. People find us on Instagram and Facebook, and we’re thrilled to be that special place for new and old customers alike. We offer those tastes of home that our customers are looking for — the best flavour combinations, knowledge and excellence in the kitchen, and tastes that are even better than you remember from your grandmother’s table.”

Foodies Delight offers popular vegetarian dishes and many gluten-free options. Their unique spice blends come straight out of the Middle Eastern cooking traditions, featuring cumin, turmeric, dill, cinnamon, garlic, and other secret combinations handed down through generations.
