We stopped in, to find out what the excitement is all about.
Eggs Benedict with a Fluffy Twist
Fuwa Fuwa owner, Donna, told us, “The original Fuwa Fuwa location was in Toronto. The city fell in love with the idea. It was something new, fun to eat with friends, and delicious. Fuwa Fuwa means ‘fluffy fluffy’ in Japanese. Our pancakes are light, soft, bouncy — we whip our egg whites to perfection, then fold them into our special recipe batter. Our focus is on healthy, locally-sourced ingredients. If you’ve never had a soufflé pancake, you haven’t yet experienced eating a scrumptious dream.”
Fuwa Fuwa offers an all-day brunch and dessert menu with savory and sweet specialties. There are cold drinks, like their Strawberry Refresher, Iced Americano, and Oreo Frappé, as well as the traditional assortment of café hot drinks. The restaurant is designed for counter ordering and table service. The space is bright and happy — a fun atmosphere with great food and positive vibes.

“We serve straight-through, from breakfast to late evening. Fuwa Fuwa is a great spot to meet friends for a casual meal. Maybe after cycling through Stanley Park, or shopping on Robson. Our menu is full of traditional favourites with a delightful, surprising twist. It’s not just a pancake, it’s a Fuwa Fuwa. And our waffles aren’t boring either — they’re croffles with sweet and savory toppings, like Nutella banana and tiramisu. Bacon and egg is a popular, feel-good combination, and smoked salmon and avocado are favourites, too,” Donna said.
“Really, our eggs Benedict is amazing. You can order it on a soufflé pancake or croffle. The meal comes with two eggs, tater tots, and salad. You can add sausage and avocado, to make it extra special. With our homemade hollandaise on top, it’s a pillowy Fuwa Fuwa dream!”
Although sweet pancake and croffle options abound, Fuwa Fuwa also features burnt top cheesecake, Basque-style, thick and creamy with a bitter crust.
