John Clerides, owner of Marquis Wine Cellars, knows that times change, but quality doesn’t. “The inspiration for our storefront came from my father. Right from the start, we were a proud Canadian family business. My dad understood the importance of having the right wine for a meal, for every occasion, for celebrations. He understood that the world’s wines should be available to everyone, and our concept was born,” Clerides said.
“We have 2,000 wines to choose from, plus champagne, spirits, ciders, and beers. Red or white, dessert wine or fortified, organic, biodynamic, magnums, exclusive imports….we have it all. Our staff are certified by the Wine & Spirit Education Trust and their WSET knowledge and industry experience means we find the best quality, anywhere in the world. When our customers come in or call, our staff know exactly what bottle will fulfill each customer’s expectations.”

“Every wine has a story. My father grew up in Cyprus and he inspired me to look around the world for the best. Our team travels widely to find up and coming vineyards, especially from small, family-run wineries. Greece has some notable vintners right now, but we import the best from France, Spain, Italy, Austria and, of course, we have an outstanding selection of Canadian wines, too. Biodynamic winemaking is a top-trend around the world right now, with its respectful and elegant approach to the process,” Clerides said.
