To discover the secret behind Noah’s Cafe, we talked to owner and chef, Cliff Chi. As Chi told us, “We had a concept, coming out of the pandemic, and it’s morphed and grown ever since. We’ve finally found our ‘forever home’ on Denman and we’re focused on an ever-evolving menu. It’s always a good idea to make reservations ahead of time, as we can get busy through dinner and evening nightlife hours. For those in-the-know, we’re the destination, for sure.”
Japanese Influences with North American Fine Cooking Methods
Chi went on to tell us about the unusual fusion menu at Noah’s Cafe, “Most of the menu items, craft cocktails, and on-tap beer we feature come from a Japanese starting point. From there, we enter fusion territory, where everything is focused on amazing taste combinations. My personal favourite is fresh oysters with cilantro hoja, paired with a glass of white or sparkling wine. “We offer a daily cocktail special and if you’ve never had The Curse of the Black Pearl, it’s worth putting on your West End bucket list,” Chi continued. “We feature everyone’s favourites, like Japanese Fried Chicken, sashimi, and our popular Uni-Creme Pasta. But how about tender, breaded squid with Brussel sprouts, or blackened anago fritter (fried fish in a charcoal-infused batter with maple soy)? We are the kind of place where you come and chill, hang out, and enjoy some of the best food around. Evenings at Noah’s are the dinners you talk about later with your friends.”
