Unbeatable Views with Peak Freshness
There’s a table in the sun waiting for you, looking across to the Laughing Men sculptures at English Bay. Papi’s Seafood and Oyster Bar is the place to be in the West End, with its iconic location on the oceanside corner of Denman, just north of Davie. Papi Poseidon invites you to come enjoy the charms of a neighbourhood restaurant with flair and an exceptional view.
BC Oysters & a Cocktail Menu to Die For
Local oysters are on the menu every day, shucked fresh and served with love, lemon, horseradish, and tangy mignonette sauce. As you sip a cocktail, managers Emily Stopp and Nicole Malahuan are floating around making sure your meal is perfect and the ambiance is classy-chill. We talked to Malahuan to find out how Papi’s became the neighbourhood favourite it is today.
“We opened just before the pandemic and the West End welcomed and supported us. Our team is amazing and our menu is West Coast freshness. We have a friendly oceanside location, and our delicious take-out is ready for a blanket at the beach, or our dining room is set for a relaxing meal with a group of friends,” Malahuan told us.
“Our cultural roots are Italian, but our language is seafood love. When we first opened, local artists Marow and Ricq joined forces to give our dining room a stunning feature wall. Our mural of the Sea Goddess Amphitrite brings the mystique energy of fresh oysters to diners enjoying a meal for their tastebuds, their eyes, and their hearts.”
Feed Your Soul, Food of the Gods
The menu has favourites like Papi’s Poke Bowl with edamame and fresh salmon. Linguine Vongole features tender pasta served with tomato and a clam-based sauce. Thai-Style Seafood Cioppino is a hearty and comforting soup with clams, mussels, scallops, rockfish, and prawns in coconut-curry broth. “We have Papi’s Caesars served with a fresh oyster, Farmers Markets with a refreshing blackberry sparkle, as well as lager, ale, and IPA on tap. Our bar manager is from here in the West End, so she knows exactly what works for a perfect English Bay meal,” Malahuan said.
Happy Times, Patio Sunshine & Ocean Waves
Whether you’re grabbing fish and chips to eat on the beach or settling into a table on the patio to watch the summer crowds with a cool cocktail, Papi’s Seafood and Oyster Bar is calling out to you. The dining room is available for private and semi-private bookings, and their LBGTQ+ support spills out with inclusive fun with friends.
Plan to catch a sunset this week, or stroll by the waves after a Happy Hour nibble and sip. Ask Papi and Goddess Amphitrite to smile down on your love, as the freshest BC oysters arrive to your table. Seven days a week, from lunch through to a late dinner (and brunch on the weekends), Papi’s Seafood and Oyster Bar has iconic Vancouver seaside vibes for you and your friends.
