Honda Celebration of Light
July 23rd, 27th, & 30th, 2022

The Honda Celebration of Light returns to English Bay for three fantastic nights on July 23rd, 27th and 30th, as Japan, Canada and Spain compete in this year’s fireworks extravaganza. With hundreds of thousands of people expected to join in the festivities, the West End will be busy and also impacted by various road closures from 7pm onwards. Click here to access the festival map.

As Lower Mainland residents and visitors begin planning their routes, festival organizers and Translink are teaming up to encourage attendees to take transit to this year’s event and utilize increased services.

We’re encouraging Metro Vancouverites to leave their car at home, and instead hop on transit, walk or cycle down to English Bay to help reduce vehicle congestion that could impede the movement of foot traffic during the fireworks festival.

Vancouver Pride Parade
July 31st, 2022

Pride celebrations are taking place this year with the return of the Vancouver Pride Society’sParade and Sunset Beach Festival on July 31st. However, there are multiple road closures during Pride Weekend which may impact your travel. Use this information to plan your weekend. We suggest taking transit or biking if possible, leaving extra time for travel, and expecting delays/traffic.

In addition to the road closures, there will be no street parking permitted along the Parade route from 6:00am-4:00pm. Access to Parkades along the Parade route will be limited. Local residents will have access before 11:30am and no access between 11:30am-4:00pm.

Please use alternate routes along West Georgia, Burrard and Davie Street if you are trying to access the West End during Parade time.
