10 Ways to Enjoy Valentine’s Day in the West End

Valentine’s Day is here again, and fortunately for us in the West End, we have tons of amazing ways to celebrate.

This past year has been especially difficult, but a walk on the sea wall, a fantastic dinner for 2, or even a cup of hot chocolate with a sweet treat can turn it all around, even for a moment.

We’ve put together a list below of our favourite ways to get in the spirit of love (whatever that looks like to you!). Share the love today!

1. Dinner for 2 – Bubble included
A few of our local favourite restaurant still have a few open tables for those last-minute reservations. We’ve got a range of delicious cuisines in our neighbourhood that will match any taste, from fried chicken take-out to a full sit down gourmet meal. Each of our businesses value and truly care about its customers therefore all safety and health protocols are strictly followed. Re-connect with your love over the best food in the city! Some of our suggested restaurants include: Jingle Bao, Shamrock Bar & Grill, Espana, Tavola, Buck Stop, Forage and The Italians, among many more.

2. Visit the Last Days of Lumiere
There’s only 2 days left of Lumiere, and therefore only 2 days left to get your fill of the sparkle, and that last Reel of Eugenia, Luna, Stanley and Davie Bear. Visit them before Tuesday, February 16, 2021.

3. Get a Room
To be blunt, we’ve all been stuck at home for far too long, and a change of scenery can only help to revitalize life in the romance department. Even just a chance to unwind in new surroundings can help with easing stress and giving you the vacation experience at home! Our favourite locales: Best Western Sands, Sandman Suites on Davie, The Listel Hotel and Times Square Suites Hotel. 

4. Hit the Seawall 
Enjoy some fresh air and unexpected snow at any of the West End’s beaches this Valentine’s Day! If you forget any of your cold weather essentials, you can always stop by The Quick Nickel for all your winter needs.

5. Last Minute Roses
Stop in to grab those last minute flowers from one of our local grocery stores, including Whole Foods on Robson and the new Safeway, or visit Davie Flowers for more selection and additional plant choices!

6. Bubbly and Baked Goods
Marquis Wine has some of the best bubbly in town, and they often go well with sweet, decadent treats that can be found at various spots around the neighbourhood. Our dessert selections? Try Breka Bakery, True Confections, Pappa Roti, or D’oro Gelato for so many sweet options.

7. Warm up with Great Coffee/Hot Chocolate
Enjoy a delicious cup of coffee or rich hot chocolate from one of the West End’s favourite cafes. Visit Melriches and Cardero Cafe on Davie, Cafe Portrait and Delanys on Denman, and Breka on Robson just to name a few!

8. Explore Stanley Park
Discover new trails, secret gardens and lost lagoons within our vast Stanley Park. You can even stop in for a quick pint at Stanley Park Brewing Co.

9. Cheers to Another Year
Another year down! Cheers with a cocktail or beer to the end (or beginning) of your Valentine’s Day evening. Clink your glasses at Loft on Denman, Bayside Lounge, Hook Seabar, Three Brits and so many more in the West End.
