Pride is here! Although it looks a little different this year, there is still so much to explore and to celebrate here in the West End!
We’ve put together our recommendations for you to have an amazing Pride Long weekend.
1. Party on!
Though we can’t dance yet, there is still fun to be had at our amazing bars and night clubs in the area! Visit Numbers Cabaret, 1181, Junction, the Pumpjack Pub or the Foutainhead Pub. All have their own fun vibe.
2. Drink a Boozy Shake at Mary’s on Davie
Celebrate Pride at an iconic LGBTQ+ space and enjoy one of Mary’s delicious boozy milkshakes or a great brunch after a night out. Our recommendation is the Frosted Nuts!
3. Educate Yourself on the History of Pride
Take a moment this weekend to learn more about the history of pride, the current issues facing the LGBTQ+ community and how to be a fantastic ally or supporter at QMUNITY!
4. Pick up Something Special from Little Sisters
One of the oldest and most well-known businesses in the West End, Little Sisters has been the pillar of Vancouver’s queer community since 1986! Stop in and browse their fabulous range of toys, books and apparel to make every night special.
6. Coffee Break
From neighbourhood icon Melriches, to our local Blenz, to Cardero Cafe, a proud LGBTQ+, Latinx owned space which has an epic menu of Latin American favourites, we have all the caffeine options for when you are fading fast this weekend
8. Sip and Relax
If you’re after a quiet evening in rather than a party, stop by Marquis Wine Cellars and pick up a great bottle of wine to enjoy at home while relaxing this weekend.
9. Hit the Patio
Try to visit all of the patios in the West End this summer! We have over 40 in the neighborhood alone, all of who offer different cuisine, drink offers and atmospheres! A full list of patios can be found HERE.
10. Watch the Sunset
Hands down, we have the best sunsets in the city. Take it all in at English Bay before you kick off your night out!
We hope everyone has a safe and happy Pride weekend! Follow our social channels to see more from us and our businesses.
