Sweet Asian Tastes for Lunar New Year
Around the world, SWEET7 is a name famous for mango drinks and fun with friends. Vancouver’s West End is home to the first Canadian location for the immensely popular chain coming out of China.
Global Mango Drinks with a Local Flavour
Talking with Lizzy Tang, co-owner of SWEET7’s first Canadian location on Robson Street, it was apparent that a beloved phenomenon has arrived. “SWEET7 has over 1,500 shops around the world, with its start in 2006 in Asia. A significant portion of our customers come from other areas of Greater Vancouver, because they know the quality and flavour that a SWEET7 drink is famous for. Our mango drinks, bubble teas, fruit teas, yogurt teas, lattes, and soft-serve cones are a familiar and delicious comfort for millions of customers around the world!” Tang said.
“Our second store is opening in Richmond and we love finding ways to bridge the gap with those who’ve never heard of SWEET7. For traditional Canadian holidays like Christmas, we celebrate through our menu’s featured drinks. And Lunar New Year is such a special time for our customer base around the world, we pull out all the stops. Our Strawberry and Orange Ice Teas, plus our Orange-Passionfruit drink, are Lunar New Year celebration favourites.”
Bubble Tea, Slush Drinks, Milk Tea & More
SWEET7 is an experience in consumer-designed, delicious, refreshing drink options. The menu features a 3-step drink design process that begins with the temperature of a drink and ends with a myriad of topping selections. Everything from ice density to hot/warm/cold options, as well as the desired level of sweetness, can be customized. Favourite toppings include sago pearls (made from rice), coconut jelly, oats, pudding, water chestnut popping boba, and Oreo cookies. From cheese foam to taro, red bean to mochi balls — SWEET7 has your favourite sweet or savory addition.
“When we picked a spot for our Canadian launch, we knew Robson Street’s bustle was where the action is. Coal Harbour, world-class shopping, Stanley Park and the seawall, plus the area’s great Asian cuisine options — it was the perfect place for us,” Tang said. “Our most popular drink is the Mango Pomelo Sago, from an original Hong Kong recipe. Although we have lots of options for tea-based drinks — rose black, roasted oolong, matcha green — our customers love the fresh, healthy fruit in our signature drinks. We’re all about the temperature, texture, and flavour combinations that create a customizable, delicious treat everyone in the family looks forward to.”
